I am not going to sit here and repeat everything, every business is saying in their email blasts and blog posts about "What we're doing in response to Covid-19". I am getting blown up by those emails too, and frankly we should all be chilling at home drinking wine instead of trying to carry on like nothing has changed. The reality is, everything has changed.
You wouldn't be surprised to know, Napa Valley is a ghost town. Every winery, vineyard and wine brand is doing the same thing - focusing on online sales with virtual tastings. It just isn't the same. Napa Valley is an experience that cannot be recreated in your living room and unless people start returning to Napa Valley soon, we are going to loose a couple wineries and restaurants. But even when people do return, will the Valley operate the same way? Doubtful.
Truth is, Napa Valley is congested with wineries and this is a test of capitalism. Businesses will innovate and if they don't they will fail. For too long, wineries in Napa Valley were comfortable with the millions of visitors feeding their business models. Now they are all realizing how similar they all are. Only those passionate enough to outlast the choppy waters will see sunnier days. For those here for the money, they will give up before Napa Valley is great again.
So what's this mean for Napa Native? Long before this pandemic, we have disinfected our vehicles thoroughly, provided hand sanitizer and taken every precaution to make you feel like the first person to sit in our vehicles. That commitment will continue. We always advocate for small, private wineries to avoid crowds. We will continue to focus on getting off the beaten path and visit places that are not mobbed with people. We will even be opening a private tasting room, open to Napa Native clients only, that will provide a low-key, serene place to enjoy Napa Valley.
As for our wines, we will continue to sell virtually and will include a virtual tasting in the vineyard for those that want to learn more about what we do. All orders will be disinfected and fulfilled with gloves to ensure you are getting a clean box of wine from us. Pop over to the store to see some of the new inventory I will be uploading in the coming weeks.
Stay safe, healthy and happy my friends and should you need anything Napa Valley, please do not hesitate to call or text!
